Curators Wassan Al-Khudhairi and Misa Jeffereis invited me to contribute an essay to the catalogue accompanying their group exhibition “Stories of Resistance,” which was on view at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis from March 12-August 15, 2021. The show focused on “artistic forms of resistance from across the world” and how artists “amplify and bring to focus the multitude of conditions that ignite and inspire people to resist.” My piece appears alongside essays by Al-Khudhairi, Jeffereis, Candace Borders and Michelle Dezember, and is available here.
